PDP members reject Health Minister as guber candidate

Some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Ebonyi State have kicked against the adoption of Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu as the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state.

The aggrieved members have described the endorsement as shocking and unacceptable, reports Leadership.

The party members under the aegis of Concerned Citizens of Ebonyi State, said imposing Chukwu on the people would tear the party apart and create disharmony among the people.

The Chairman of the group, Jerry Uhuo said it was wrong for the governor of the state, Martin Elechi and a handful of people to impose somebody on the people of the state.

Describing the minister as a non PDP card- carrying member, Uhuo said the fact that Chukwu is a minister does not qualify him to step in as a gubernatorial candidate in a carefully orchestrated imposition exercise.
