Elechi/Umahi Crisi Deepens

The cold war between Governor Elechi and his deputy, Engr. Dave Umahi has taken a new dimension, dividing Ebonyi state house of Assembly into two with Elechi Losing the speaker and other Principal officers to Umahi. A factional group of lawmakers of the state house of assemble however claimed that they have impeached Chukwuma Nwazunku, Bringing the crisis in the hallowed chamber to square one, what it was last july 21, when a group of lawmakers in the early morning of july 21 broke into the chamber of the state assembly at Nkaliki Road, Abakaliki announcing the impeachment of Nwazunku as the speaker even when the house was on recess.

The Voice Newspaper Investigations revealed that the trouble startes when Governor Elechi Advised speaker not to obtain interest form for the for the federal house of representatives in 2015 general Elections.

This order according to our source did not go down well with the speaker Nwazunku and other lawmakers who did not see any rationale in the governors directives and wonder why other members in the state assembly were given automatic return ticket.

We gathered that speaker Nwazunku allegedly obtained interest form for the for the federal house of representative against his masters order and also lead a group of principal officers of the house to endorse the deputy Chairman of Ebony state PDP Hon. Onwe Joseph Onwe as wel as given a transit endorsement to engr. Dave Umahi's Governorship ambition against the approval of Chief Elechi who preferred prof. Onybuchi CHuwu to Umahi
